In this workshop, we introduced them to counting and probability, using the coin and dice problems to teach basic concepts of counting and probability. We also went over complementary counting and ended with a Kahoot to review.
This week, we continued our counting and probability workshop. We introduced factorials and Venn diagrams and discussed combinations and permutations. We did practice problems and ended with a final review Kahoot!
In this workshop, we taught geometry, covering different types of polygons with a focus on triangles. We talked about the different types of triangles and how to identify similar and congruent triangles. We did a lot of practice problems and reviewed with a fun Kahoot!
In this workshop, we talked about number theory. We discussed prime factorization, divisibility tricks, and how to find the number of terminal zeroes of a factorial. After many practice problems, we ended with a Kahoot!
The topic of this workshop was algebra. We went over different methods of solving systems of equations, inequalities, and Vieta’s formula. The students solved many practice problems and shared their work. Afterwards, we played a fun game of Kahoot!
In this workshop, we talked about different types of rocks. We discussed the formation and unique properties of different kind of rocks and how to identify them. After numerous practice problems, we played Kahoot to review the material from the lesson!
